About The Position
We are seeking an experienced OSP Engineer to join our telecommunications team in Syracuse, NY. The ideal OSP Engineer candidate will bring strong fiber plant design expertise and contribute to our network infrastructure projects while working in a hybrid environment (currently 2 days/week in office).
OSP Engineer Responsibilities
- Design and develop fiber plant infrastructure and telecommunications networks
- Create detailed engineering documentation using industry-standard software tools
- Coordinate with field technicians and construction teams to implement OSP Engineer designs
- Manage right-of-way, property rights, and permit acquisition processes
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and local regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality network solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network design challenges
OSP Engineer Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in telecommunications/data networking or wireless industry
- Strong expertise in fiber plant design and general construction knowledge
- Proficiency with technical applications including Word, Excel, Visio, ArcGIS/ESRI, 3GIS, and Google Earth
- Comprehensive knowledge of network plant and local practices
- Demonstrated experience with engineering systems and databases
- Working knowledge of right-of-way, property rights, and permit acquisition
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and project management abilities
Work Environment
Our OSP Engineer position is hybrid-based in Syracuse, NY with a current expectation of 2 days per week in the office (subject to change). The successful OSP Engineer will enjoy a collaborative work environment with opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
