Major Duties And Responsibilities Performs maintenance and repair of the Embassy complex boilers, chillers, heat exchangers, water heaters, air handlers, air conditioning units and associated controls under the technical direction of the HVAC Shop Foreman. May be responsible for providing work direction to HVAC Technicians in operation, maintenance and repair projects. Performs or leads the work in the following main areas: Preventive maintenance of equipment assigned as a specific responsibility in accordance with established schedules, operational and maintenance procedures. Checks and conducts tests of boilers, heat exchangers, water heaters, pumps, fans, blowers, air conditioning units, humidifying boilers and associated control instrumentation. Repair and maintenance of heating and ventilating systems and equipment including the centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, heating boilers, humidifying steam boilers, heat exchangers, snow melters, water storage tanks, swimming pool, water heaters, air handling and air conditioning units, air filters and air distribution systems by directing the work and providing hands-on assistance. Corrects defects by adjustment, cleaning, repair and/or replacement of defective items. Planning, scheduling and execution of work orders assigned to the American HVAC mechanics and other work as assigned to support Embassy operations, including installation of new HVAC systems. Qualifications Licensed Master HVAC Technician with minimum of seven years experience in the operation, maintenance and repair of HVAC equipment, systems and controls including large centrifugal chillers boilers, pumps, air handler units, piping heat exchangers and associated equipment. Must be Universal CFC Certified. At least 3 years must have been as a Master. Must have oral and written communication skills sufficient to produce employee evaluations and written reports for upper management and to brief upper management on project status. A basic understanding of the Russian language is highly desirable. Must be 21 years of age or older, have completed secondary school or obtained a GED, and possess a valid driver's license. A Top Secret clearance is required.
