Position SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Inside HVAC Remote Monitoring Engineer to join our Field Services team. The ideal candidate will leverage their mechanical engineering background and hands-on commercial HVAC experience to analyze and respond to real-time operational data from our fleet of LD-DOAS across our portfolio.
This role plays a critical part in enhancing system reliability, optimizing performance, and proactively addressing equipment issues through predictive maintenance strategies supported by digital twin technologies and centralized monitoring infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities: Monitor real-time performance data, alerts, alarms, and system notifications from a centralized HVAC monitoring platform.
Analyze system behavior and performance anomalies to identify root causes of operational inefficiencies or failures.
Triage and prioritize HVAC-related alerts and alarms, determining when to remotely adjust, escalate, or dispatch field service teams.
Collaborate with field technicians, facilities teams, and service vendors to ensure timely resolution of issues.
Develop, implement, and refine predictive maintenance models using digital twins and analytics tools to anticipate system failures before they occur.
Maintain accurate logs, reporting, and documentation of all actions taken in response to alerts or service events.
Work cross-functionally with IT, data science, and engineering teams to improve system monitoring algorithms and decision-making protocols.
Contribute to continuous improvement of remote monitoring processes and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
3 to 5 years of experience in commercial HVAC system design, installation, commissioning, or operations.
Solid understanding of Commercial HVAC and control systems (BAS/BMS).
Familiarity with liquid desiccant systems is a strong plus.
Experience with fault detection and diagnostics (FDD) platforms, building automation systems, or remote monitoring tools.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to interpret sensor data, trends, and alarm patterns.
Familiarity with digital twin technology and predictive maintenance strategies is a strong plus.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to clearly convey technical issues and resolutions to non-technical stakeholders.
Self-starter with a proactive mindset and a commitment to operational excellence.
Preferred Skills Experience with platforms such as Distech, Niagara, Tridium, Johnson Controls, Siemens, or Schneider Electric BMS systems.
Working knowledge of data visualization and analytics tools (e.g., Grafana, Power BI, Tableau).
Familiarity with IoT and cloud-based monitoring platforms.
Experience with field services tools such as XOi is highly preferred.
Certifications such as LEED, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or HVAC-related licenses are a plus.
