A prestigious law firm in the Chicagoland area is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trust and Estate Paralegal to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess strong proactive planning skills and a comprehensive background in estate planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft estate planning documents including wills, powers of attorney, and both basic and advanced trusts
- Assist with basic and advanced estate planning for clients
- Perform trust administration and prepare accountings
- Communicate effectively with clients, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills
- Work collaboratively within a team environment, sharing knowledge to enhance overall team strength and camaraderie
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in drafting estate planning documents
- Strong background in trust administration and accounting
- Excellent attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience preparing gift and estate tax returns under attorney guidance
- Probate experience
- Familiarity with advanced trust structures and estate planning techniques
Work Environment:
- Hybrid position three days per week in-office attendance required after the initial 90-day period
- First 90 days require 100% in-office attendance to ensure proper onboarding and integration (limited exceptions may apply)
