HVAC Facilities Technician (2nd Shift)

Monday to Friday 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM
The HVAC Facilities Technician (2nd Shift) is responsible for maintain of best practice systems and problem resolution on all campus HVAC, electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and performing preventive maintenance and continuous operation of all equipment for various buildings on sites.
- Fire/life safety and mechanical systems, such as (HVAC, chillers, CRAC, CAC, IRC, WSHP, plumbing, and controls.)
- Electrical including emergency backup systems such as (lighting, UPS, ATS, STS, PDU, generators, primary switchgear, power distribution, transformers).
- Monitors operation, adjusts, and maintains refrigeration, chilled water, and air conditioning equipment; boilers, and ventilating and water heaters; pumps, valves, piping, and filters; other mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Must record readings and make and adjust where necessary to ensure proper operation of equipment.
- Monitor building management systems (BMS/BAS) and respond to alarms and alerts promptly.
- Requires the ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions and take corrective action as required. RCA (Root Cause Analysis)
- Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintains a clean and safe workplace.
- Learn and understand the site in-order to manage incidents and events that put the critical systems at risk.
- Work order management, including Corrigo, Vendor Management.
- Understanding and complying with emergency escalation procedures.
- Perform additional job duties as required.
Education & Experience
- Universal and EPA preferred
- Boiler experience
- Systems, HVAC, electrical, general maintenance, basic plumbing.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Related work experience.
Language Skills
- Demonstrated verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to review and read schematics and technical drawings
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations and codes.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before small groups of tenants or fellow employees.
Other Skill and Abilities
- Working knowledge or the capability of developing proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Access and any other software packages.
- Must be able to professionally interact with tenants and contractors.
- Ability to work in a matrix environment with both client and peers
Preferred Requirements
- CMMS Experience
- Corrigo Experience preferred
- Hands-on experience working in a production facility environment.
Physical Requirements
- This position will require the following:
- Walking large, campus-like settings.
- Frequent walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, stooping, and working/extending overhead, including:
- Lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Climbing stairs and navigating rooftops to access equipment.
- Using ladders up to 30 ft and working from heights.
- Ability to climb a ladder with a 300-lb weight limit.
- Must be able to work different schedules.
- Must be able to work Holidays.
- Must be able to respond to site emergencies.
