HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of GSU campus buildings' BAS " Building Automation Systems," HVAC control, and laboratory control systems. Their work will entail inspections, preventative maintenance, minor system modifications, and installations as required for GSU's multiple BAS platforms. In addition to supporting the department, the
HVAC & Digital Control Technician II also:
- Overhauls and services refrigeration, air conditioning, and heating units by repairing or replacing worn parts.
- Inspects equipment for needed repairs and performs routine maintenance.
- Tests refrigeration units for leaks; adds gas to refrigeration units.
- Monitors valves and gages to ensure proper operation; adjust valves, pipes, etc., as needed.
- Changes and cleans oil and air filters.
- Operates Centrifugal and Reciprocating chillers.
- Assist in installing air conditioning and heating units and related equipment.
- May assist in training lower-level employees.
- Cleans work areas and equipment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements: - Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications: - Minimum three (3) different levels of factory training of DDC control systems manufactured by Siemens and Johnson control Metasis systems and ALC systems with 5-year BAS maintenance or construction experience.
- Knowledge of Ethernet network setup and troubleshooting procedures.
- Knowledge of VAV and CV laboratory fume hood control systems.
- Knowledge of large laboratory building ventilation systems.
- Knowledge of large chilled water plant and steam boiler plant operation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of procedures, tools, and equipment used in the HVAC trade.
- Practical oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to access confined spaces.
- Ability to work in open areas, such as rooftops, etc.
- Ability to climb ladders and scaffolds.
- Ability to operate tools and equipment used in the HVAC trade.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to multi-task, pay attention to detail, train and supervise staff, lift approximately 50 pounds, exhibit excellent customer service, and interpret building drawings.
