Human Resources Summer Student Assistant (Work Study)

Responsibilities:

This is a work-study student position responsible for assisting in the operations and activities of the human resource department with clerical, project and program development support. Students must have received a work-study award. Please reach out to Financial Aid to confirm your eligibility for work-study before you apply.

A student must be enrolled in six or more semester hours to be eligible for student employment during the fall or spring semesters. To be eligible for student employment during the summer, a student must be enrolled in three or more semester hours or be registered for courses in the upcoming fall semester.

The opportunity involves a weekly commitment of 15 to 20 hours a week between 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday - Friday in the office. DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides office assistance to the department by assisting staff in routine clerical duties and responsibilities. Provides assistance in answering phone calls, routing incoming calls, taking messages and greeting visitors. Assists in file and records maintenance; to include scanning documents, copying, filling, and typing. Assists in the preparation and implementation of departmental project/program activities. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of general office and clerical procedures and concepts. Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records and files. Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with faculty and staff, students, and the general public. Ability to understand and follow instructions. ability to exercise a high level of confidentialityRequires a commitment to attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Salary:

8.50 hourly
