Job Title: HR Specialist - Leave of Absence Management

Location: Onsite in Salem, OR

Employment Type: Contract (3-6 months) with potential for permanent hire

Salary: $28 - $34 per hour

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM



Job Summary: LHH Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented HR Specialist to join our client's team in Salem, OR. This position will focus on managing leave of absences, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and manage all types of leave of absences, including FMLA, ADA, personal, and medical leaves.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws and company policies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding leave of absence inquiries and issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date leave records in the HRIS system.
  • Coordinate with managers and employees to facilitate smooth transitions before, during, and after leaves.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on leave policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and distribute leave-related documentation and communications.
  • Monitor and track leave usage and report on leave metrics.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to develop and implement leave management best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in HR, with a focus on leave of absence management.
  • Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and other relevant leave laws.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work independently.
