ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Act as a liaison in coworker and company matters, keeping the best interests of both at heart.
- Perform recruiting, interviewing, new hire orientations and onboarding as needed.
- Process and maintain PTO calendar and records, payroll and personnel records.
- Stay informed, up to date on local and federal labor laws and regulations.
- Coordinate and report work comp claims.
- Address any insurance and benefit questions from coworkers.
- Support and provide assistance for any other HR needs for coworkers.
- Administer employee recognition programs including but not limited to 1) new hire welcome, 2) employee birthday program, 3) births, sickness, memorials 4) extra step award program and 5) milestone work anniversary.
- Serve as the HR representative of Chicago Fittings at any corporate or other HR meetings and at the annual summit.
- Participate in corporate HR meetings and events contributing insight, giving feedback and assisting in creating policies and procedures for HR.
- Keep portal and CFTV updated with birthdays and anniversaries and any other HR related postings as needed.
- Compose and submit company newsletter articles.
- Coordinate and arrange coworker company events such as picnics, team building exercises, holiday parties, potlucks etc.
- Safety duties-maintain SDS books, database and print SDS labels when needed. Maintain PPE posters.
- Assign and conduct EHS training to managers and co-workers as necessary to ensure compliance with internal procedures and all regulatory agencies.
- Maintain safety training records and ensure all required safety training is completed on time and verifiable.
- Support and enhance the safety culture of the company via coworker interaction and promoting safety as the number one priority of the company.
- Provide appropriate updates and reports to your supervisor and the management team as necessary.
- Communicate all issues to your supervisor.
- This position will have regular access to sensitive information and must be able to demonstrate professional discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Serve as backup support for sales and customer service.
- Answer phones if needed.
- Backup as needed A/R duties including but not limited to order and invoice processing.
- Backup as needed A/P duties including processing and printing payables checks.
- Backup as needed posting bank deposits, reconciling monthly accounts.
- Carry out company errands as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
- Filing as needed.
- Run Company errands as needed.
- Performs other clerical duties as assigned.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- QUALIFICATIONS
- Multi-tasker, ability to maintain accuracy.
- Prioritization skills.
- A skill set to successfully perform each of the specific job functions as stated above.
- General office practices.
- Math and use of calculators.
- Good computer skills including Microsoft Office and ERP/Company software.
- Present self in a courteous and professional manner when communicating with vendors, customers, and personnel.
- Excellent Communication skills.
- Good Organizational and follow-up skills.
- Effectively present information and assist/respond to questions from internal personnel, customers, and general public.
- Perform detailed record keeping.
- Enter or tabulate data accurately.
- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 3-5 years in an office environment and 1-3 years in HR role or equivalent training.
- High School Diploma.
- SHRM certification or working towards desired.
