Human Resources Project Manager
About the Role:
Our client in the
distribution industry is seeking a strategic and results-driven
Human Resources Project Manager to lead and execute key HR initiatives that align with the company's operational goals and workforce strategies. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and brings a strong background in HR project management, organizational change, and cross-functional collaboration.
Reporting to the Director of HR or Senior Leadership, the HR Project Manager will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of projects related to talent management, process improvement, HR systems implementation, compliance, employee engagement, and organizational development.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage end-to-end HR projects, including planning, resource allocation, timelines, risk assessment, and delivery
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (HR, Operations, IT, Finance, etc.) to execute initiatives that support business growth and compliance
Drive implementation and optimization of HR technologies, including performance management tools, ATS, and payroll systems
Develop project documentation, dashboards, reports, and post-project evaluations
Support organizational change efforts, including communication planning, stakeholder engagement, and training rollout
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws throughout project execution
Provide status updates and strategic recommendations to leadership and project sponsors
Identify process improvement opportunities within HR functions and propose scalable solutions
Support the coordination of HR audits, workforce planning initiatives, and policy development projects
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's or HR certification a plus)
5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2+ years in a project management or HR operations role
Strong project management skills, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives
Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
Proficiency in HRIS/HR tech platforms (Workday, UKG, ADP, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite
Experience in distribution, logistics, or a similar fast-paced environment preferred
PMP or related project management certification is a plus, but not required
