Human Resources / Payroll Specialist

Location: Fully Onsite in Orlando, FL
Salary: $55,000 - $65,000

Key Responsibilities of the Human Resources / Payroll Specialist:

Payroll & Benefits Administration

  • Process payments for insurance benefits, workers' compensation, and 401(k) contributions.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, deductions, and annual ACA reporting.
  • Handle annual insurance enrollments and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.

HR Compliance & Employee Relations

  • Oversee new hire paperwork, including background checks, drug tests, education verification, MVR reports, and reference checks.
  • Monitor and address MVR reporting issues with drivers.
  • Manage workers' compensation and unemployment claims.
  • Ensure personnel files are organized, up to date, and in compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain the company handbook and HR compliance policies.

HRIS & Administrative Support

  • Perform HRIS data entry and maintain personnel files.
  • Track and manage PTO requests and employee records.
  • Ensure contracts for contracted personnel are up to date for payroll purposes.
  • Support the HR team with other duties as assigned.


Preferred Qualifications for the Human Resources / Payroll Specialist:

  • 3+ years of payroll experience
  • 2+ years of HR experience
  • High school diploma required; two years of college preferred
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word
