Job Summary
The Human Resources Manager plays a key role in fostering a positive work environment, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and enhancing the overall employee experience. This position oversees critical HR functions such as training and development, employee relations, payroll, compliance, engagement activities and other HR-related initiatives. The HR Manager collaborates with leadership to align HR practices with organizational goals and values.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees on a wide range of colleague relations matters, including conflict resolution, performance management, corrective actions, and employee development
Lead and support the execution of fair and thorough workplace investigations; provide guidance during coaching, counseling, and disciplinary processes
Design, coordinate, and facilitate monthly training programs to enhance the professional growth and skills of both individual contributors and managers
Oversee all aspects of leave of absence programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state (including Oregon), and local laws as well as company policies
Administer and manage workers' compensation claims, liaising with insurance carriers, and managers to support affected employees
Accurately process weekly payroll in compliance with wage and hour regulations, maintaining confidentiality and attention to detail
Plan and coordinate employee engagement and community service events to boost morale and support the company's mission and overall objectives
Act as the Hotel Safety Training Liaison, ensuring employees are well-trained in safety procedures and that all protocols are consistently followed
Respond to and manage unemployment claims by submitting accurate documentation and timely responses to relevant state agencies
Lead the property's colleague experience survey program, overseeing survey distribution, and partnering with managers to develop action plans that enhance employee engagement and satisfaction
Maintain a strong working knowledge of current Oregon employment laws and HR best practices to ensure compliance in all HR-related functions.
Utilize Excel and other data tools to analyze HR metrics, maintain employee records, and prepare reports for leadership as needed.
Maintain and update HRIS systems and personnel files in accordance with company standards and legal requirements
Complete a variety of administrative duties to support daily HR operations
Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of HR

Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of previous Human Resources management experience required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office and other HR-related software
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, guest-centric environment
A proactive mindset with a commitment to fostering employee engagement and development
Must be committed to achieving results and enjoy working in an environment of change
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
