LHH Recruitment Solutions (Human Resources division) is partnering with an organization in Kansas City, MO, and assisting them search for a new HR Manager. This is an on-site position in Kansas City, MO, near the Country Club Plaza. This position is responsible for providing overall guidance and support to the Human Resources department, ensuring effective implementation of HR Policies, program, and procedures. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of the organization by ensuring that the HR department supports the overall business strategy and promotes a culture of excellence and inclusivity. The HR Manager will manage key HR functions such as employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, compliance, workers' compensation, leave and accommodations and HRIS Systems. The HR Manager will support divisional leadership regarding key strategic initiatives, support organizational goals and foster a positive and productive workplace culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Compliance and Legal Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, and wage and hour laws. Ensures compliance with Department of Mental Health guidelines for background screens, required documentation and training requirements. Directly responsible for employee record keeping/file management both in the shared drive and on the HRIS system.
  • HRIS Management: Administer and manage HRIS system (Paylocity) ensuring accurate data entry, payroll processing, benefits management and reporting.
  • Leave and Accommodations: Manage employee leave programs including FMLA, ADA Accommodations, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies
  • Employee Engagement: Develop and execute employee engagement activities and initiatives to promote retention, satisfaction, and a positive organization culture. Execute, manage, and push employee engagement surveys to identify areas of opportunities. Recommend strategies and programs to promote engagement.
  • Training and Development: Provides training for new hires and tenured employees. Collaborate with leadership to assess training needs and implement learning and development programs to enhance employee skills and performance.
  • Compensation and Performance Management: Oversee the performance review process, providing coaching to managers and employees on goal setting, feedback, and development plans. Will assist with oversight of compensation programs.
  • Payroll: Will assist with payroll and other related responsibilities ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing.
  • Employee Relations: Act as a trusted advisor for employees and management by addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting a positive workplace culture.
  • Recruitment: Leads and manages the recruitment team. Manage the recruitment and onboarding process for all new hires. Works in collaboration with the training team for onboarding and orientation of new employees
  • Management/Leadership: Serve as a role model to establish and foster a positive culture based on trust, respect, collaboration and integrity. Through personal example, establish the style and approach which will characterize the Company's dealings with the marketplace.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years' experience in a Generalist role
  • A minimum of 2 years in a managerial role
  • SHRM or PHR certification preferred
  • Knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Experience with HRIS systems (Paylocity preferred)
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Detail oriented and good time management skills and ability to prioritize work
