SUMMARY: As the Human Resources Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day HR operations for BeLit, Inc. and its affiliated companies (Apex Technology, True Design Studios, True House FL, and True House NC). You will be accountable for accurate payroll processing, benefits administration, employee onboarding and compliance, and lead and support performance management and policy development initiatives. This HR Manager will supervise one direct report (HR Generalist) and serve as a key partner to leadership in managing human capital, HR operations, and related systems across all companies.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Payroll Administration:

  • Process, review, and approve payroll for multiple entities.
  • Maintain and update employee records, including new hires, terminations, department or salary changes.
  • Oversee time clock adjustments and PTO entry for all employees.
  • Update 401(k) percentage contributions weekly and deposit employee contributions post-payroll.
  • Manage wage garnishments.
  • Generate and store payroll reports after each cycle.
  • Coordinate with Finance to manage Nexus setup and ensure multi-state payroll compliance.

Benefits Administration:

  • Manage health, dental, vision, disability, and 401(k) plan administration.
  • Conduct quarterly enrollment and benefits education sessions.
  • Maintain and update quarterly vesting hours for 401(k).
  • Complete annual reporting (eg, 5500 Census) and ensure filing is processed according to regulatory deadlines and service-level agreements.
  • Administer benefit changes due to life events, new hires, or terminations.

Employee Onboarding & Offboarding:

  • Oversee and manage onboarding process including background checks, new hire paperwork, and orientation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of I-9 documentation and E-Verify.
  • Facilitate system access setup and initial training coordination.
  • Manage the offboarding process including exit interviews, benefit transitions, and final payroll.

Compliance & Records Management:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, ADA, OSHA, etc.).
  • Respond to unemployment claims and represent the company in hearings.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records, including I-9 forms and disciplinary files.
  • Monitor and support compliance with OSHA regulations and workers' compensation claims.
  • Ensure timely and compliant completion of ACA reporting, I-9 audits, and other regulatory filings as required.

Employee Relations & Performance Management:

  • Manage and lead employee relations including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and coaching.
  • Administer the annual performance review and employee assessment process.
  • Provide guidance and policy interpretation to managers and employees.
  • Handle sensitive employee issues with discretion and professionalism.
  • Policy Development & HR Program Management:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensure effective communication of policies and updates company wide.
  • Regularly review policies for compliance and relevance; recommend updates as needed.

HR Systems & SharePoint Site Administration:

  • Manage and update HR documentation and content on the SharePoint site.
  • Ensure HR resources (forms, policies, training) are up-to-date and accessible.
  • Collaborate with IT and leadership to enhance SharePoint usability and structure.

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Directly supervise the HR Generalist, providing coaching, development, and performance feedback.
  • Delegate tasks as appropriate to support HR operations across multiple entities.
  • Foster a positive, compliant, and service-oriented HR culture.
  • Participate in strategic HR planning and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including multi-entity payroll and benefits administration.
  • 3+ years of experience supervising or mentoring HR staff.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems (eg, Paychex), HRIS, and timekeeping platforms.
  • Working knowledge of employment and labor laws.
  • Familiarity with employment regulations across multiple states.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Experience in construction, manufacturing, or related industries strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint administration.
