In the 2024-25 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region will be comprised of four schools educating more than 3,000 students, kindergarten through twelfth grade in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida.
- KIPP Impact Academy: Kindergarten - 4th grade, 6th - 8th grade
- KIPP VOICE Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade
- KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade
- KIPP Bold City High School: 9th - 12th grade
For the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school.
- K-8 Staff: 7:30am - 4:30pm K-8 Students: 8:00am - 3:30pm, Wednesday K-8 dismissal is at 1:30pm
- High School Staff: 6:45am - 3:45pm, High School Students: 7:15am - 2:30pm, Wednesday High School dismissal is at 12:30pm.
Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. This doesn't include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.

Job DescriptionThe Human Resources Manager (HRM) is one of the administrators of human resources to ensure employees can work at optimal levels across the organization as KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools continues to grow. They will execute on the vision and goals as outlined by the Director of Human Resources. The HRM helps with the day-to-day operations of all HR services with a customer service and equity lens. These areas include but are not limited to: onboarding new employees in partnership with the talent team, supporting payroll in partnership with the finance team, benefits administration, and managing compliance projects.
This role will focus primarily in the following areas:
(1) HRIS maintenance, including completing reporting needs
(2) High-quality onboarding processes and customer service
(3) Compliance (fingerprint, benefit, certification, etc.)
The HR Manager works to balance these three areas of work with excellent project management skills. The HR Manager plays a key role in onboarding and offboarding of employees by being a point of contact for new hires and coordinating their experience in partnership with the talent team. They coordinate fingerprinting, candidate forms, and answer questions for new hires once onboarded. The HRM also owns compliance related to personnel and certification. They ensure the HRIS is accurate for all records and can run reports accordingly.
Success would be measured by excellent onboarding and offboarding experiences, high levels of customer service for employees, accurate and timely reporting, and clean audits.

The HRM is a full-time role on the Shared Services team which oversees four schools currently and is actively planning for growth in future school years. As a member of the Shared Services team, this individual would be responsible for doing whatever it takes to ensure that school-based personnel are supported and can focus on ensuring that students develop the knowledge, skills, and character strengths they need to succeed throughout their education and in the competitive world beyond.
This position is year-round and performs duties as assigned by their manager. Typical hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. but can vary based on role and season. Occasional after hours meetings may be necessary. Some work-from-home days might be possible.
SPECIFIC DUTIESOnboarding/Offboarding/Certification:
- Respond to offer requests in a timely manner and draft offer letters for new hires, as needed
- Partner with the talent team to create and maintain excellent onboarding processes that have regularly planned touchpoints for all new hires to ensure a best-in-class matriculation experience
- Partner with the talent team to create resources for new hires related to certification and track teacher certification processes for compliance purposes
- Work with candidates and the local district representatives to ensure candidates are fingerprinted and screened efficiently and all data is tracked accurately
- Create total compensation statements for all new employees
- Ensure new employees are entered into the HRIS and all onboarding items are completed
- Communicate HR data to relevant stakeholders (i.e. fingerprint clearances, requests for technology, etc.)
- Work with schools to meet all certification compliance requirements for audits
HRIS/Benefits/Pay:
- Support the HR team by running any necessary reports to assist with open enrollment, audits, benefits reporting requirements, etc.
- Review payroll in partnership with the HR and Finance teams
- Support the HR Director with benefits open enrollment and with benefits administration, as needed
Compliance:
- Ensure the team maintains accurate records in HRIS, district-mandated platforms, and for the KIPP Foundation
- Maintain fingerprint records and reprints
- Maintain certification compliance and records
- Leave administration complies with all policies and documented appropriately, in partnership with external vendors
COMPENSATION- Annual salary range for this role is $51,000-$57,000

- Minimum of five (5) years of related work experience in a human resources field other than recruitment
- Bachelor's Degree
- Clear project management ability with measured results
- Detail-oriented
HIGHLY PREFERRED- PHR certification
- Prior HR experience in a K-12 school setting or district-level setting
- Prior experience with Paycor HRIS
