Position Summary
The HR Manager - Distribution Center is responsible for overseeing all HR-related functions within the DC, with a strong emphasis on employee relations, workforce engagement, and regulatory compliance. This is a very hands-on role, requiring daily presence and interaction on the floor with employees and managers. The HR Manager serves as a key partner to DC leadership to support a productive, safe, and inclusive work environment. They ensure consistent application of policies, address employee concerns proactively, and promote positive employee experiences at all levels.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee relations matters including coaching, discipline, conflict resolution, investigations, and terminations.
- Partner with DC leadership to foster a positive work culture through clear communication, coaching, and engagement initiatives.
- Partner with staffing agency to manage temporary headcount, ensuring alignment with productivity needs.
- Be the primary point of contact for payroll and benefits-related inquiries, supporting employees with timely and accurate information.
- Lead site-specific initiatives for employee engagement, retention, and recognition.
- Provide HR support for daily DC operations such as attendance management, corrective actions, and accommodations.
- Collaborate with safety and operations teams to ensure a healthy, safe, and compliant workplace.
- Investigate and resolve complaints regarding harassment, discrimination, or other sensitive concerns; maintain thorough documentation and reports.
- Interpret and apply federal, state, and local employment laws to ensure policy compliance and mitigate risk.
- Conduct training for supervisors on key topics including performance management, documentation, conflict resolution, and compliance.
- Partner with the corporate HR team on benefits administration, performance management cycles, and company-wide initiatives.
- Support implementation and communication of policy changes at the site level.
- Represent HR during audits, legal inquiries, or investigations as required.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required.
- 10 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a distribution environment.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification highly preferred.
