A rapidly growing distribution company is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team on a contract basis to cover a maternity leave. This is a fantastic opportunity for an HR professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and enjoys being hands-on with all facets of human resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of company-wide HR policies and practices, ensuring compliance with legal and corporate standards.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment, retention strategies, and succession planning.
  • Oversee onboarding, new hire orientation, employee engagement, and recognition programs.
  • Conduct and manage exit interviews, analyzing feedback to inform HR strategy.
  • Direct training programs, career development, performance evaluations, and compensation planning.
  • Stay informed on wage and salary trends to maintain competitive compensation.
  • Monitor HR compliance with federal/state employment laws, including EEO and Affirmative Action.
  • Provide strategic HR guidance to senior leadership and handle complex employee relations issues.
  • Supervise and support HR/benefits staff, ensuring high-quality performance and adherence to policy.
  • Handle payroll processing and ensure accuracy.
  • Create HR presentations for internal stakeholders and external agencies as needed.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of relevant HR experience or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, employment law, and compliance regulations.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
  • Excellent multitasking, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Experience handling sensitive employee matters and confidential information.
  • Proficient in supervising staff, assigning tasks, and ensuring quality work.
