We are seeking an experienced HR Manager for our staff of 200+ full time employees. It is essential that the applicant have experience working for a construction company that is involved with Davis Bacon and Secure projects. Knowledge and experience with security badging is helpful. Must be fluent in English & Spanish


This is a hands-on position with responsibilities as follows:

  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance specifically with the DOL and Davis Bacon requirements.
  • Conducts onboarding for all new employees, including new hire orientation.
  • Prepares all new hire paperwork required to setup employees in payroll and establishes new personnel files.
  • Manage annual reviews as well as probationary period assessments.
  • Support recruiting, interviewing, and selecting employees to fill vacant positions. Coordinate Job Posting Program.
  • Provides onboarding education and continual communication on company benefit program to include insurance, wellness, retirement, and other plans for employees. May assist with system enrollments, change reporting. Assists with inquiries and questions.
  • Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation.
  • Develop and Implement Training and Management programs for field management team.
  • Maintains training records, determines training needs according to protocol and updates training calendar for employee use.
  • Maintains up-to-date employee records by processing employee status change.
  • Provides input on the development, interpretation, and administration of company policy, program, procedure or handbook.
  • Researches, understands, and maintains compliance with labor laws.
  • Exercise initiative or, as directed, perform additional duties to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Monitors PTO program and acts as POC for all employee inquiries.

Education

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree from a four-year college/university or equivalent experience, preferably in Human Resource Management or a related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential.

Experience

  • Five years or more of related work experience within Human Resources or Employee Relations in Construction or manufacturing industry
  • Experience within Training and Facilitation preferred.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
