We have an exciting, new job opportunity for a company that has been in business for over 90 years and serves manufacturers, big box retailers, and distributors of automotive parts, chemicals, accessories, tools, and equipment. This is an on-site position.
This role will serve as a strategic partner and operational leader for all HR functions. As an individual contributor, you will work closely with leadership and employees to develop and implement HR policies, foster a positive company culture, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive and self-sufficient professional capable of handling strategic initiatives and daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to create a positive employee experience throughout the entire employee lifecycle.
- Manage recruiting, including job postings, and interviews.
- Oversee onboarding processes to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
- Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers for resolving workplace issues.
- Promote a positive workplace culture by leading engagement and recognition initiatives.
- Develop, update, and implement HR policies in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting, including EEO, FMLA, and ADA compliance.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
- Manage payroll processing in collaboration with accounting/finance.
- Assist the third-party administrator with benefits programs, including open enrollment and employee education on offerings.
- Support managers in goal setting, performance reviews, and employee development plans.
- Facilitate training programs and professional development opportunities.
- Partner with leadership to align HR strategies with business goals.
- Conduct workforce planning to support future growth and succession planning.
- Ensure that all administrative systems and processes are highly reliable, finely tuned, and well-delivered with an aim toward pro-action rather than reaction.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or relevant experience
- 5+ years' experience in Human Resources
- Strong recruiting and demonstrated ability to improve talent acquisition strategies
- Strong organizational, critical thinking and communication skills
- Attention to detail and good judgement
