Human Resources Intern


Salary Range:$16.50 To $17.30 Hourly

The Human Resources Intern will report to the Senior HR Manager, Administration & Human Resources. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to learn many areas of and grow within the Company. He/she will assist the Admin and HR team in providing a liaison with CTA's parent company and branches, record and document high level executive meetings, assist with some payroll, compensation and performance management functions, and provide support for a variety of HR projects.

Major Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Support work permit and immigration applications, tracking all related needs.
  • Assist with the Performance Appraisal process and address User system needs.
  • Assist as HR liaison with communications among Parent Company and its branches.
  • Assist with internal HR activities assigned by Parent Company.
  • Assist with quarterly commission calculations for sales and support teams.
  • Help to move forward the development and implementation of commission automation systems.
  • Assist with the expatriate program, including compensation, benefits, work permit visa applications, and tax compliance for incoming, outgoing, current, and returning expatriate employees.
  • Support compensation-related projects.
  • Conduct data analysis to support HR initiatives and HR reporting.
  • Engage in other areas of HR and payroll to learn how they interconnect.
  • Bring ideas to streamline HR processes and assist in managing the CTA HR and OA system.
  • Other HR/Admin department duties as needed.

Essential Skills, Qualification and Education Needed:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Human Resources, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Law, Business analytics or business-related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience handling administrative functions in a professional environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with verbal, written, face-to-face and over the phone interactions with partners and all levels of staff and management in both English and Mandarin required.
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel including vLookups, Pivot Tables and other advanced formulas, VBA, and data visualization.
  • Experience with Python or R is highly desirable.
  • Ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks simultaneously, while prioritizing efficiently, work independently as well as working well within a team.
  • Self-starter, well organized, have extreme attention to detail and flexibility to work across different time zones.
  • Familiarity with telecommunications or technology business a plus.
  • Proficiency to read, interpret, and verify data from multiple formats in English and Mandarin.
  • Able to handle complex data requests, reports, and predictive data modeling, analytical and problem-solving skills with an energetic and positive attitude.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information & documentation with integrity and professionalism.

  • Ability to learn various office equipment, operating systems, and software applications.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with CTA teams and peers during every interaction and maintain rapport with people of diverse backgrounds and professional levels.
