Job Title: HRIS Analyst

Pay rate: $30-$34/hr DOE

Location: La Verne, CA 91750

Employment Type: Temp to hire

Are you a tech-savvy HR professional with a passion for data, systems, and process improvement? We're looking for an experienced HRIS Analyst & Project Lead to drive transformation and efficiency across our HR systems and data strategy. In this role, you'll collaborate across departments to manage our HR technologies, lead data-driven initiatives, and improve the employee experience through smart automation and seamless system integrations.

  1. HRIS Strategy & System Management (35%)

  • Serve as project co-lead for our annual employee classification process; ensure HRMS (Banner) readiness and data accuracy.
  • Act as subject matter expert for Banner HR Module and related HR systems (PeopleAdmin, Everfi, FLAC, etc.).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Payroll, Talent, OIT) on system updates, testing, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Lead integration efforts to streamline data flow and eliminate redundancies between platforms.
  • Develop SOPs and training resources to improve HRIS utilization.
  • Own HRIS-related project lifecycles from planning to execution and reporting.

  1. Reporting & Analytics (15%)

  • Design and maintain dynamic reports using Cognos to support compliance (eg, WASC, IPEDS) and business intelligence.
  • Deliver customized and standard reports for departments, leadership, and strategic planning.
  • Create and monitor onboarding/offboarding reports; collaborate with Payroll, Benefits, and IT for seamless processes.
  • Support compensation data needs for survey submissions and analytics.

  1. HR Data Governance & Auditing (20%)

  • Establish and conduct audits to ensure data integrity, privacy (GDPR/CCPA), and compliance with institutional policies.
  • Review employment records for completeness and regulatory alignment.
  • Work with security officers and stakeholders to maintain and secure data access and accuracy.

  1. Web Content & Portal Management (10%)

  • Own content updates across HR web pages and portals.
  • Partner with team leads to publish relevant updates and ensure site accuracy.

  1. Internal Communications & HR Support (5%)

  • Coordinate campus-wide HR email communications.
  • Approve updates to the Online Directory and coordinate changes with Marketing and IT.
  • Participate in cross-departmental committees addressing HR data and digital initiatives.

  1. Data Stewardship & System Oversight (15%)

  • Act as a data steward for HR systems ensuring security roles, audit trails, and process documentation.
  • Lead Faculty Load and Compensation (FLAC) policy creation and system training.
  • Provide Banner user access, support data governance, and champion adoption of best practices across systems.

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Information Systems, STEM or a related field (required)
  • IHRIM certification is a plus

Experience (5-7 Years Preferred)

  • Expertise with HR systems (HRIS, ATS, Payroll, Benefits) - Banner experience highly desired
  • Proven track record with reporting tools like Cognos or similar BI platforms
  • Project lifecycle experience from planning to rollout (Project Management interest or exposure a plus)
  • Strong command of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools (Visio, Word, PowerPoint)
