Human Resources Generalist Stockton, CA


A leading construction company is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support HR operations across its California locations. This role will play a key part in employee relations, compliance, talent acquisition, and workforce development while ensuring alignment with company policies and industry best practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts to ensure a strong and engaged workforce.
  • Administer and enforce HR policies and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including California-specific regulations.
  • Serve as a resource for employee relations, addressing concerns and fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Assist with benefits administration, payroll processing, and leave management.
  • Support labor relations efforts, including compliance with union contracts and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Contribute to HR reporting, audits, and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate training and development programs to support employee growth and organizational goals.
  • Partner with leadership to drive employee engagement and performance management initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • 3+ years of HR experience, preferably within construction, manufacturing, or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of California employment law, HR compliance, and labor relations.
  • Experience with union environments and familiarity with collective bargaining agreements is a plus.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, payroll administration, and benefits coordination.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base salary: $75,000-$85,000, depending on experience
  • Bonus: 7.5%-10% with additional earning potential
  • Onsite position with approximately 20% travel within California
