LHH is seeking a direct hire Human Resources Generalist to sit on client site in Gardena, CA.

Pay for this role is up to $70,000 per year (possible flex depending on experience)
Seeking someone with approximately 3 years of experience.
This person must be okay verfiying payroll. This is a solo HR position.
This person must be okay handling a large number of workers compensation cases.
The Human Resources Assistant will report directly to the Office Manager and will assist in the daily operations of the HR department. This role involves providing administrative support for various HR functions, including payroll, workers' compensation, onboarding, and benefits. The HR Assistant must perform all duties with independence, professionalism, precision, and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review biweekly payroll data, including new hire and termination information.
- Collaborate with management on time and attendance issues for payroll approval.
- Execute the full recruitment process for designated positions, including job postings, phone and in-person interviews, candidate communication, reference and background checks, etc.
- Manage the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring all paperwork and reporting are up to date.
- Stay informed about changes in wage and hour laws, payroll taxes, and related technologies.
- Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices.
- Maintain knowledge of HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies.
- Administer employee benefits, including medical, dental, life, disability insurance, supplemental medical, and 401k plans.
- Track and maintain FMLA records and other leave of absence processes.
- Maintain a safe work environment and understand workers' compensation and OSHA safety requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of HR experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish (REQUIRED).
- Well versed in OSHA compliance
- A-Z experience in workers compensation
- Current knowledge of Federal and CA Employment Law and Compliance.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Self-starter, team player, and problem solver.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Knowledge of payroll and workers' compensation.
- Experience in a production plant HR environment.
- Approachable style, exceptional active listening skills, and a commitment to accuracy and completion of work.
