HR Generalist Job Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist guides all aspects of HR delivery to positively impact business unit performance and administers the functions of the employment lifecycle such as sourcing, staffing, employment administration, onboarding, associate relations, leave administration, benefit administration, and training.

HR Generalist Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or directly related year for year experience
  • 3 years of human resources experience with exposure to generalist responsibilities.

HR Generalist Preferred Skills:

  • Well-rounded HR background with experience in staffing and recruitment, employee investigations, coaching, leave administration, onboarding, compliance and more
  • Experience balancing both administrative and strategic HR responsibilities
  • Experience within an operations or high production environment (ie Manufacturing, Distribution, Warehouse)
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct root cause analysis
  • Proactive mindset with a strong sense of initiative
  • Adaptable and flexible in a fast-changing environment
  • Comfortable supporting employees at all levels, from hourly to director-level staff
  • Confident in building relationships and providing HR support across diverse teams

HR Generalist Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer the functions of the employment lifecycle such as sourcing, staffing, employment administration, onboarding, associate relations, leave administration, benefits administration, and training.
  • Manage the recruitment process to ensure compliance and the availability of talent to meet client group needs. This may include managing vendor/agency staffing relationships to supply a contingent workforce as needed.
  • Deliver orientation and educate new hires on company policy and procedures.
  • Advise and counsel management and associates on various state and federal regulations, company policies and procedures and HR practices, as they relate to associate issues, performance management, promotion and compensation practices
  • Provide support to client group on associate relations matters, to include investigations, leveraging strategies toward resolution and providing recommendations for counseling/employment status.
  • Escalate complex associate relations matters to senior HR leadership as needed to ensure consistency with company practice and policy and mitigate legal risk for the organization.
  • Develop strategies for achieving diversity including development of annual Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) for client group.
  • Administer/Support HR as liaison with the third-party administrator for all Short-Term Disability claims.
  • Maintain associate records for client groups, both paper and electronic (PeopleSoft & Kronos) files; enter status changes in HRIS systems; generate reports as needed.
  • Collaborate with senior HR and management in facilitating activities that drive job satisfaction, engagement and morale.
