The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator will serve as the receptionist for the corporate office and will handle a variety of administrative and human resources duties. They will assist with recruitment, benefits, payroll processing, employee relations; maintain employee records and provide administrative support to all employees. The HR Coordinator will handle the ordering and stocking of supplies, answering incoming calls. They will send, receive, and distribute mail and packages.
The HR Coordinator must have outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. An HR Coordinator is expected to be a conceptual thinker with fantastic organizational and time management skills. You will have excellent people and administrative skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
To ensure success, HR Coordinators should display strong problem solving and decision-making skills with an understanding of employee relationships, staffing management and payroll. Top candidates will be fantastic at managing conflict, effective at scheduling and thorough in the recruitment process.
Duties/Responsibilities: - Receptionist at the main entrance of the corporate office. Greet callers and visitors in a professional and respectful manner.
- Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
- Maintain employee files, file documents.
- Assist with the recruitment process. Creating job postings, managing candidate flow, performing pre-employment screening, issuing offer letters, completing new hire paperwork, entering employee data. Onboarding of new hires.
- Process personnel transactions.
- Assist with benefit enrollments for new hires and annual enrollment.
- Assist with performance management.
- Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events and maintain agendas.
- Coordinate training sessions and seminars.
- Reconcile monthly benefit invoices.
- Assist with administration of 401(k) plans.
- Assist with payroll.
- Ordering supplies and stocking office, kitchen, mail room, and other supplies as needed.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices.
- Support other assigned functions.
Requirements: - High school diploma.
- 2 years of experience as an HR Coordinator preferred.
- Exposure to Labor Law and employment equity regulations.
- Effective HR administration and people management skills.
- Exposure to payroll practices.
- Understanding of HR functions and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
- Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related business and communication tools.
- Fantastic organizational and time management skills.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
