Location: Oak Brook, IL
The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative support to the human resource team, including record-keeping, file maintenance, and HRIS entry. This position requires strong communication and organization skills, a proactive attitude, and a passion for supporting employees throughout their lifecycle within True.
Responsibilities:
- Assists employees with general HR-related inquiries and concerns, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate personnel.
- Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation, and maintains I-9 files.
- Prepares and maintains employee records in accordance with labor laws and HR policies and procedures.
- Conducts regular audits of employee records, including I-9 records, to ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws.
- Responds to reference checks and verifications of employment.
- Assists with the performance review process.
- Performs various calendaring duties for the HR team.
- Prepares agendas and records notes for team meetings.
- Assists with administrative tasks related to on- and off-boarding.
- Ensures documentation and policies are current and distributed appropriately.
- Maintains HRIS systems and performs department audits as needed.
- Assists with other general HR functions and ad-hoc tasks as required by the HR department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience
- Two years of related experience preferred; working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Detail-oriented and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities
