Basic Purpose- A leading Veal and Lamb manufacturing facility in Collingswood, NJ is seeking a full-time entry-level HR Assistant. The HR Assistant is responsible for providing direct support in all aspects of HR and office administration. General duties include but not limited to processing applications, scheduling interviews for HR Director and Generalist, I-9's, new hire orientations, background checks, reference checks, drug screen/physical scheduling, maintain all personnel files and perform other duties as assigned by the HR Director. The backup for this role is the HR Generalist.
Duties/Responsibilities-
Handles incoming calls for the HR department
Maintains ongoing communication with candidates
Set up interviews and follow up calls
Facilitates training via Alchemy. New hire orientation, 30/60/90 and annual
Maintains training records and communicates upcoming training to upper management
Occasional support with visitor check-in and facility registration
Prepares all new hires folders personal, medical, and payroll
Maintains accurate and organized employee files (active/terminated) with strong attention to detail.
Weekly data entry for company's attendance policy
Manages document handling, including photocopying, mailing, scanning, and emailing
Submits background check requests and prepares documentation for pre-employment clearance
Supports the employee offboarding process
Provides guidance regarding company policies and documentation requirements
Supports distribution of benefit packages including medical, life insurance, and retirement
Performs HRIS data entry and updates locker, parking and Alchemy system records on a regular basis
Strictly upholds confidentiality standards in both interactions and data management
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Working understanding of human resources principles, practices and procedures
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Ability to function effectively in a high-paced and at times challenging environment
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Bilingual (Spanish) required
Education/Training:
High School Diploma or equivalent
2 +years' experience in Human Resources and administration
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites, Outlook, Excel, Google Meets, Zoom and related software
ADP workforce experience preferred
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to step, climb, balance, squat, kneel, bend and reach above shoulders as needed. At times must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
