Scope of Job
To provide advanced skills and knowledge for performing highly responsible specialized duties in the administration of human resources services. Responsible for performing specialized duties in the administration of various functions involving the application and independent interpretation of rules, regulations, procedures, and policies.
One position will provide support for Immigration Services and Student Employment and the other will provide support for HR Leave Administration.
Description of Duties
• Serves as a specialist within assigned areas of Human Resources such as employee leave, immigration compliance, criminal background checks, student employment, recruitment, benefits, training, salary administrator and employee records, and/or general assistance.
•Responsible for making independent complex and involved office decisions, and performing advanced administrative duties for the area administrator.
•Coordinates the maintenance, recording, preparation, and reporting of employee data.
•Responds to routine or non-routine requests for information.
•Prepares and maintains departmental reports.
•Answers requests for student employment, salary information, immigration, leave, and CBC's.
•Prepares/supervises data entry and retrieval, which may include purchase orders and payment vouchers.
•Performs reviews and verification in support of student job postings, hiring process, personnel and payroll actions and ensures compliance with established procedures.
•Specializes in the area of immigration and leave administration, which includes evaluating and processing a variety of payroll documents, changes, terminations, and reports.
•Collects employee information for reports and statistical research.
•Applies knowledge and understanding of HR concepts, practices, and procedures to investigate, document, and resolve unique payroll, student employment, and human resource problems and issues. Advises respective supervisors during the applicable process.
•Handles routine requests for information and/or interpretations of policies and rules.
•Communicates and informs departments of personnel policies and/or changes. Reviews job posting requests based on established rules and regulations.
•May prepare training materials and conduct training on Human Resource functions and processes.
•May be assigned to special projects.
•Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education
Technical or Associate's degree
Licenses/Certifications

Required Experience
• Four (4) years of work experience in an office setting, including in a human resources function, or
• Two (2) years of work experience in an office setting, including in a human resources function with Associates degree or 60 college credit hours.

Working Conditions
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office environment; some evening and/or weekend work may be required.

Accuracy in all phases of work is required. Tact, diplomacy and judgment required in dealing with others. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
