Human Resource Administrative Assistant The HR Administrative Assistant plays a key role in supporting the Human Resources department by ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This position is responsible for a variety of administrative tasks, including calendar coordination, document processing, and employee support functions. This is a contract opportunity located near Evanston, IL.
Responsibilities: - Manage and coordinate calendars for HR leadership, including scheduling meetings, interviews, and internal events.
- Process and track invoices related to HR services, vendors, and employee programs.
- Complete employment verification requests and maintain accurate employee records.
- Assist with onboarding tasks such as I-9 verification and document collection.
- Support payroll preparation by ensuring all departments submit timesheets on time and entering data into the payroll system.
- Follow up with department leads to resolve missing or incomplete time entries.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in handling sensitive employee information.
- Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including filing, data entry, and responding to employee inquiries.
Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of administrative or HR support experience, preferably in a fast-paced office environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple calendars and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with HR processes, including I-9 verification, employment verifications, and timesheet tracking.
- Basic understanding of payroll procedures, including collecting and entering timesheet data (not processing payroll).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) and comfortable learning new systems (e.g., HRIS or payroll platforms).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional and courteous demeanor.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document handling.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

- Pay is $25-$35 an hour, depending on experience
