Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager to join our dynamic team for a copper mining project in the Western USA. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all HSE policies and procedures to ensure a safe and environmentally compliant working environment. This role is crucial to our commitment to operational excellence and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify and mitigate potential safety and environmental issues.
- Lead and manage HSE audits, inspections, and incident investigations, ensuring thorough documentation and reporting.
- Develop and deliver HSE training programs for employees and contractors to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
- Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics, providing regular updates to senior management.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to integrate HSE considerations into project planning and execution.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory changes, ensuring continuous improvement in HSE performance.
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and stakeholders regarding HSE matters.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of HSE experience in the mining or heavy industrial sector, preferably within the copper industry.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local HSE regulations and standards.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing HSE programs and initiatives.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or equivalent are highly desirable.
