Position Description

Performs specialized work in the planning, conducting and/or supervising of original research at TTUHSC. Responsible for participating in, planning, scheduling and/or supervising research projects and the interpretation of the results for publication. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on accomplishment of assigned objectives and overall effectiveness of project. May supervise research and student assistants.

Major/Essential Functions

Functions:
Design and implement mixed-methods research studies TTUHSC Research initiatives
Timely, well-documented research plans, comprehensive data collection, and actionable insights that directly influence project outcomes. Active stakeholder engagement.

Develop protocols and conduct interviews, focus groups, and surveys with stakeholders and community members.
Deliver comprehensive protocols are developed and documented, ensuring consistency and reliability across all interviews, focus groups, and surveys conducted with stakeholders and community members.

Collect quantitative and qualitative data across sectors
Implement a robust dataset of both quantitative and qualitative information is gathered from all relevant sectors, capturing diverse perspectives and key metrics related to project goals.

Ensure accuracy and quality of data
Monitor data quality and completeness, identify needed data points, ensure accurate data entry, manage data files and databases.

Analyze data to identify trends
Data analysis reveals clear, actionable trends that are documented and shared with the team, providing insights that directly support project decision-making and strategic planning.

Draft data results/findings
Compose well-organized, clear, and visually supported reports or presentations are delivered, effectively communicating data results and key findings to stakeholders and guiding informed actions.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Master's Degree in sociology, public health, education or related field with focus on mixed methods.

Experience: 3+ years of conducting qualitative and mixed-methods research, preferably within non-profit, government or academic setting. Project management, development, stakeholder engagement, and data driven decision making experience also preferred.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficiency in qualitative data analysis software. Strong interviewing, survey design, and focus group facilitation skills. Ability to synthesize qualitative insights with quantitative data. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences. Background in rural health or workforce development with experience working in rural health environments like West Texas or similar regions.

Pay Statement

Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan website.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree or specialized academic training beyond the Bachelor's level in a particular field of science or engineering equivalent to a Master's degree. One year research experience. Knowledge of modern research practices, the methods, resources, and standards thereof.
