The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs seeks a motivated intern to assist in the development of a seniority database for our employees. This project aims to create a comprehensive record of employee tenure and seniority within the organization, providing valuable insights for HR management and organizational planning. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in human resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the creation and generation of the HR Seniority support.
  • Perform data entry tasks to maintain accurate HR records, databases, and personnel files.
  • Update and verify employee information in HR management systems.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity through meticulous data entry and validation processes.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across various platforms.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential employee information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with HR and IT teams to gather employee data and input into the database system.
  • Assist in designing and implementing database structures and workflows.
  • Conduct regular audits and quality checks to maintain data consistency.
  • Support in troubleshooting database issues and optimizing system performance.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as assigned by the HR team.
  • Identify opportunities for improving the use of data
Requirements:
  • Familiarity with database management systems (DBMS) and data entry procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel or similar tools for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Prior experience with database development or HR analytics.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, or other programming languages.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Additional Information:
  • This internship offers a great opportunity to gain practical experience in human resources while contributing to the operations of a state agency.
  • Tentative Start Date: 6/2/2025
    Tentative End Date: 8/15/2025

    Internship Type: Paid

    Hourly Wage: $21.00

    Weekly Hours: 22.5
Qualifications:

    • Applicants must currently enrolled in a B achelor's or Master's Degree program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fields.
    • Familiarity with database management systems (DBMS) and data entry procedures.
    • Proficiency in MS Excel or similar tools for data analysis and reporting.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

There are no benefits with this position except for Earned Sick Leave.
