Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Provide support for the plant in daily administrative duties as well as Human Resources in the areas of recruitment and staffing, personnel records, employee relations, compensation, benefits, HRIS, and training.

KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITES
  • Coordinate events and activities, depending on location, meetings, luncheons, tours, and Employee Engagement Team events.
  • Communicate effectively with employees regarding company goals benefits information policies questions problems and grievances etc. referring employees to the Human Resources Manager as needed. Administer all Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Administer HRIS to include processing of new hires rehires terminations rate changes LOAs address changes preparing and inputting payroll figures etc. Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner. Enter all HR and payroll maintenance.
  • Create and maintain complete employee personnel files. Maintain all employee records on computer and in hard copy files.
  • Conduct testing when applicable. Conduct new employee orientation ensuring all new employees are aware of company values goals policies and procedures. Process applicable paperwork.
  • Assist Human Resources Manager in other areas as needed including clerical support.
  • Types correspondence emails and performs various clerical duties as needed, such as filing, photocopying, and collating. Assist with maintaining personnel files and records. Prepares new hire orientation manuals, documents, and coordinates scheduling of room/equipment.
  • Answers incoming telephone calls, determines purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel or department. May operate paging system to relay in-house announcements or call individuals to phone if required. Updates telephone directory as needed. Receives, sorts, and routes mail.
  • Complete workers compensation reports and other miscellaneous reporting for on-the-job injuries. Maintain various monthly reports on hiring terminations safety and other related information to keep management and Corporate abreast.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

EDUCATION
  • HR/payroll/office/clerical preferred additional HR education a plus.
EXPERIENCE
  • 3+ years experience
  • Payroll experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
  • Ability to understand all HR related legal regulations and apply them to work situations.
  • Access knowledge a plus.
  • Effective organization and time management skills to ensure responsibilities are carried out in an orderly manner.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office (excellent Excel skills necessary PowerPoint Word).
COMMUNICATION AND CONTACTS

Work with all plant personnel, Corporate HR personnel, other locations, and some vendors. Communication with team members is essential.

DECISION MAKING

Requires ability to resolve routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to higher levels.

OTHER

Typically reports to Location HR Generalist or Location Senior HR Generalist or Location HR Manager.

Additional Information

PAY RATE: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
