HR and Payroll Specialist Branford, CT
About the Role: A well-established manufacturing company in Branford, CT, is seeking a HR and Payroll Specialist to support its growing workforce. This role is responsible for payroll processing, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations. Key Responsibilities: Process bi-weekly payroll using ADP, ensuring compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws.
Manage payroll-related deductions, including garnishments, PTO, insurance, and 401(k) contributions.
Maintain and update Time and Attendance systems.
Assist employees with benefits enrollment and inquiries.
Handle compliance tasks such as OSHA reporting, workers' compensation claims, and unemployment claims.
Conduct new hire orientations and maintain employee records.
Stay up to date on HR best practices, labor laws, and industry trends.
Support employee relations and escalate issues as needed.
Who You Are: Strong communicator with excellent verbal and written skills.
Detail-oriented and organized with strong time management.
Familiar with HR principles, payroll processes, and employment law.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
Experience with ADP payroll processing is a plus.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
Qualifications & Experience: Preferred: Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: At least 3 years of payroll experience, with 1+ year in HR preferred.
Work Environment & Requirements: Office-based role in Branford, CT, with occasional exposure to a manufacturing environment.
Full-time schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
Must be eligible under U.S. export control regulations.
