HR MANAGER : THE NELSON COMPANIES
The Nelson Companies is looking to hire a HR Generalist to fill the HR Manager role in the Lake Zurich, IL headquarters office. This role will
manage
various general HR functions and drive positive employee relations within the company, while complying with local/state & national regulations, ensuring adherence to corporate HR guidelines/policy, and ultimately meeting the objectives of the company.
This role reports to the Chief Operating Officer and works closely with department and business leaders across the organization. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Professional training, tracking and performance management:
Create and coordinate programs across a variety of levels, including with internal business partners and external organizations to make sure that training is relevant
Maintain any relevant documentation
Think creatively about company performance management process, including implementing new processes and forms and integrating 360 feedback
Manage performance management process, including working with managers to ensure compliance and that feedback is received appropriately. Manage all files associated with the process in company share drive.
Compensation and Employee Benefits
Work with President and COO to manage total rewards strategy
Strategically analyze annual salary increases, bonuses and validate market conditions
Recruitment, Hiring Coordination and Onboarding
Manage talent acquisition for the company at all levels including posting open jobs on various websites and sourcing through other means, interviewing/evaluating candidates, shepherding candidates through the interview process, handling feedback internally and managing the offer process.
Prepare for all new hires across all locations, including working with payroll, administrative and IT departments
Collaborate with leaders in developing onboarding plans to ensure a successful 30-60-90-day approach and thoughtful introduction to the organization, team and role.
Manage all new hire paperwork
QUALIFICATIONS:
HR Manager qualifications and experience required include:
Bachelor's Degree
5-7 years of progressive HR experience. Preference for experience in manufacturing or construction environments
Demonstrated success in development and application of HR policy, recruitment & staffing, and talent development
Strong project management, facilitation, and problem-solving skills
Function specific knowledge, deep business understanding, and multiple years of experience in HR
Ability to be both a strategic partner and hands on with execution across the HR spectrum
Outstanding communication and presentation skills. Ability to handle sensitive information
Ability to motivate staff and promote Nelson's core values
Ability to travel as needed to various company locations (less than 10% of time)
