The HR Business Partner provides top-tier services to their clients, helping to drive performance at the individual, team, and organizational levels. The HR Business Partner serves as a proactive change agent, collaborating with business leaders to shape and execute a strategic people agenda aimed at consistently raising the talent standards and enhancing the employee experience within their designated teams and throughout the organization.

Client Details

Our client is a global alternative investment and financial services firm with US and international offices. This hire will be based in the Los Angeles, CA (Century City) with a 3 day onsite requirement.

Description

Responsibilities of the HR Business Partner include:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for managers and employees on day-to-day HR matters, including handling leavers and joiners, addressing employee relations issues, answering inquiries, and providing policy guidance.
  • Provide coaching and advice to leaders on organizational and management challenges, covering areas such as:
    • Talent strategy, including organizational structure, design, and succession planning.
    • Identifying opportunities to enhance the employee experience, improve morale, and boost productivity and retention.
    • Headcount planning and budgeting, both on an annual and ongoing basis.
    • Offering feedback to employees, supporting career development, managing underperformance, and handling disciplinary actions and separations.
  • Support key annual processes such as performance management, promotions, compensation, and headcount planning and budgeting.
  • Resolve complex employee relations issues and conduct thorough, unbiased investigations.
  • Stay updated on legal requirements concerning employee management and collaborate with the legal department on complicated matters.
  • Oversee voluntary and involuntary separations and conduct exit interviews.
  • Supervise a team of 1-2 junior HR Business Partners
  • Work with HR teams to execute business objectives and drive results, including:
    • Talent Acquisition to assess candidates, manage open roles, and provide input on hiring decisions and compensation terms.
    • Reward in support of the annual compensation process and benchmarking.
    • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion to lead impactful initiatives supporting diversity and inclusion.
    • Talent Development & Community Engagement to improve the employee experience by focusing on growth and development.
    • HR Operations to use metrics and data to develop tailored solutions.
  • Lead policy and program development projects and participate in strategic HR initiatives, including acquisitions and establishing new offices.
  • Keep up-to-date with market trends to proactively provide valuable insights to the business.

Profile

Qualifications of the successful HR Business Partner candidate include:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Over 8 years of experience in Human Resources, with at least 5 years in an HR Business Partner or similar client-facing role supporting 300 employees
  • Prior experience in financial services, investment banking, and/or asset management is highly preferred
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Have a proactive approach, strong work ethic, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Be versatile across all HR functions and collaborate effectively with managers and colleagues at every level of the organization
  • Possess exceptional client relationship skills, establishing credibility quickly and influencing outcomes
  • Be hands-on and well-organized, able to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities effectively
  • Work independently with discretion and sound judgment
  • Be comfortable navigating ambiguity and change in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
  • Pay close attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy
  • Have a strong analytical mindset and an interest in finding innovative ways to improve existing processes
  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Maintain professionalism and poise under pressure
  • Be reliable, motivated, and a team player with a positive attitude

Job Offer

  • Base salary range $225,000 - $275,000
  • Bonus range $40,000 - $80,000
  • Fully paid Medical, Dental, Vision
  • 401 match
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Hybrid working 3 days onsite in Century City, Los Angeles
