Full-time position available as a Housing Specialist for the Permanent Supportive Housing Program. This position performs intermediate professional work assessing client needs, developing, implementing, and monitoring service delivery and assistance plans within the Permanent Supportive Housing program that provides housing services to individuals who are experiencing homelessness, have been diagnosed with a Serious Mental Illness, are frequent users of emergency services, etc. Work involves orienting all eligible participants to the program that will promote self-sufficiency, integration into the community, and permanency in housing. Administrative tasks such as maintaining records and files, preparing reports, etc. are performed in a general office setting.
Preferred candidate will have Bachelor's degree with coursework in social work, psychology, counseling, sociology, or related field and at least moderate experience working with individuals with severe mental illness in a behavioral health setting, or equivalent combination of education and experience if degree is not applicable. Requirements include experience in related housing services, two years' experience working with low-income adults, HQS inspection training/experience or ability to acquire within one year of hire required. Knowledge of homeless population, community resources, and behavioral health disorders required. Salary is commensurate with education and experience as it relates to the position.
