Day to day as a Housing Specialist As a new Housing Specialist at EDEN, you can expect a dynamic daily routine centered around client interaction and support. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include conducting assessments to determine client needs, developing personalized housing plans, and providing resources to aid clients in securing stable housing. You'll collaborate with community partners and attend case management meetings to ensure comprehensive support for your clients. What you need to be successful To excel as a Housing Specialist at EDEN, candidates must possess a blend of relevant skills and experience. A high school diploma or GED is essential, while an Associate's Degree in Social Services or a related field is preferred to deepen your knowledge of the industry. Having 2-3 years of experience with the Housing Choice Voucher program or other housing assistance programs will be crucial in guiding clients effectively through the housing process. Additionally, familiarity with the mental health population, ideally with one to two years of experience, will enhance your ability to provide empathetic support tailored to diverse client needs. Strong communication and problem-solving skills, along with proficiency in software tools related to case management and data tracking, are vital for maintaining organized records and managing client interactions efficiently.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
