This position has Friday and Saturdays off We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Overnight Houseperson/Laundry Attendant to join our team. This position will support the Residence Inn and Hampton Inn Portsmouth. In this position you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel public areas and providing assistance to the housekeeping team with stocking and delivery of supplies. With our continued growth and project pipeline, we are able to provide our associates with exciting career advancement growth and opportunities.General Responsibilities:- Receive list of assignments and/or shift checklist from MOD and prioritize items
- Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments
- Deep cleaning of assigned areas of hotel including, but not limited to, shampooing of rooms and public area carpets, window washing, light fixtures, and guest elevators
- Clean and maintain back of house area including, but not limited to, employee break room, executive offices, hotel laundry area, and employee restroom
- Dust and polish furniture and remove marks /stains from walls and furnishings
- Remove all trash, dirty linens, towels, and room service items from public areas
- Vacuum carpets and clean floors
- Deliver items to guest rooms upon request from front desk
- Clean guest rooms as needed
- Ensure soiled linens are laundered, which may include loading hotel washers and dryers and folding sheets and towels
- Notify maintenance department of needed maintenance or repairs
- Clean and set up function/meeting rooms according to function sheets
- Attend to the cleaning process of hotel linens according to Colwen and brand standards
- Wash, dry, and fold hotel linens and terry as well as treating stains to minimize loss
- Store, inventory, issue, and distribute hotel linens
- Operate washing and drying equipment, load and unload laundry from machines
- Measure and administer cleaning agents to laundry according to product specifications
- Inspect used laundry for stains and repairs before washing
- Monitor feeder information on washer, make sure all drums are full and report any irregularities to supervisor
- Complete lint and discard log
- Maintain orderly and clean linen stock areas
- Maintain a clean and organized laundry room
- Perform other duties as requested
