Hotel Manager for a luxury resort in the Bahamas (Caribbean experience mandatory)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Hotel Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our luxury island resort. This leadership role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless execution of resort standards, guest satisfaction, and operational excellence across all departments, with a particular emphasis on the Rooms Division. The ideal candidate will bring a background in luxury hospitality and previous experience managing operations on remote island properties.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operations of all departments, with a strong focus on Rooms (Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services, and Reservations).
  • Ensure the highest levels of guest satisfaction through exceptional service standards and attention to detail.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor departmental heads and teams, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and empowerment.
  • Collaborate closely with F&B, Spa, Activities, Engineering, and other divisions to ensure a seamless and unified guest experience.
  • Monitor quality assurance standards, health & safety compliance, and service delivery in alignment with the resort's brand and luxury positioning.
  • Support the General Manager in strategic planning, budget control, staffing, and performance management.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for VIPs and high-profile guests, ensuring personalized and elevated guest journeys.
  • Manage operational challenges unique to remote island locations, including logistics, sustainability, and staff wellbeing.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years of management experience in a luxury hotel or resort, with at least 3 years in a remote island or off-grid resort environment.
  • Proven expertise in Rooms Division operations is essential.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills with a hands-on, collaborative approach.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of financial management, budgeting, and operational KPIs.
  • Experience in managing multicultural teams in remote environments.
  • Flexible, resilient, and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are an asset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or related field.
  • Experience with high-end boutique resorts or private island properties.
  • Familiarity with PMS systems (e.g., Opera, Infor, or similar).
