ABOUT THE ROLE:


The Corporate Sales Manager role is primarily an outside sales position, actively prospecting and hunting within Corporate, Government, and Association business sectors to conduct sales for the hotel property. This role requires a dynamic and fun candidate with experience in Hotel Sales in the above sectors of focus. This will be an ideal opportunity for a mid-level candidate with the above background to develop a long-term career. Mentorship from an experienced Hotel Sales leader is available, and there will be advancement opportunities into Senior-Level sales positions for top performers.


  • Position Type: Full-time, permanent, exempt position.
  • Location: Hanover, MD, 100% on-site.
  • Compensation: 70K - $80K, quarterly bonus, and bi-annual upside (uncapped).

PRIMARY DUTIES:


  • Conduct outside sales duties to actively increase Hotel Sales within Corporate, Government, and Association sectors.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales to implement effective sales processes based on the defined strategic approach.
  • Actively prospect, hunt, and cold-call to generate leads, follow up with potential clients, and build a book of business.
  • Arrange and conduct off-site client visits, site inspections, and off-site presentations for potential clients.
  • Actively engage with clients to develop rapport and to maintain existing client relations.
  • Present appropriate Hotel Services and Features to ensure effective presentation that can lead to a close.
  • Negotiate room rates and hotel services within booking guidelines to ensure successful closure of sales.
  • Accurately produce and review all sales contracts and rate agreements.
  • Collaborate with other Hotel Departments to ensure proper execution of post-sale service delivery.
  • Track and record all sales and service activities within the Hotel's Catering System (Delphi, Cvent), including all notes, actions, and related details to sales and service activities.
  • Produce monthly sales reports and sales forecasts for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure proper communications are maintained with the Director of Sales and other Managers on any unresolved issues or incidents to ensure prompt resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Acknowledge and assist all Hotel guests and clients as needed to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in organizations, networking events, and/or attend trade shows relevant to the market sector.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all Hotel Services, Operations, Features, and Policies.
  • Assist the Hotel Team with additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • 3+ years of experience in Hotel Sales with an upscale Hotel Property is required.
  • Prior experience with clients within the Corporate, Government, and Association business sectors.
  • Availability during evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Professional demeanor and a capable communicator who works well with all clients, colleagues, and supervisors.
  • The ability to take the initiative, work independently, and overcome challenges with eagerness and enthusiasm is a must.
  • Ideal Software Experience: Delphi and Cvent.
