The Cloud and Connectivity organization is actively looking for Multiple Hosting Operations Engineer to join them. Do you like to solve challenges and have an interest in large scale impact? What You'll Be Doing


We are seeking multiple Hosting Operations Engineers with demonstrated ability to support and lead enterprise Infrastructure and Cloud operational environments. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining system stability, automating operational tasks, and ensuring high availability for critical workloads. This position requires both in-depth technical expertise and a proactive approach to problem-solving and operational excellence.

You will work in our Infrastructure Hosting Platform area leading the global technical operations of Data Center and Colo facility capabilities for Lilly. Additionally, you would be one of the senior Data center platform operations engineer working with the Lilly Infra Engineering teams, Manufacturing engineering, and Facility Engineering team on strategy for on-premises private cloud and Advanced Computing needs.


This role will work with the latest Private cloud IaaS and Advanced AI/CPU infrastructure. In addition, this lead will have the opportunity to improve our Data Center and Colo services via better power/heat layout, monitoring/alerting, availability planning. Our goal is to improve all aspects of our infrastructure availability and reliability through repeatable patterns, new architectural designs, improvements in observability to prevent outages to help increase value across the organization. The role will also provide mentorship and direction to our global Lilly operations SMEs and other platform infrastructure operations SME to deliver the daily operations associated with this area.

  • Be Your Best: You will bring a high learning agility and Infrastructure operations / engineer skills to help us enable the Lilly Technology strategy, identifying tech opportunities, and accelerate our AI OPS journey.


What You Should Bring

  • Technical expertise and leadership to turn ideas and concepts into operation solutions.

  • Data Center Facility, Server, network or Cloud certifications are a bonus, or we are willing to help you develop.

  • Experience supervising the daily operations, maintenance and monitoring of data center facilities, including server, network, and cloud infrastructure.

  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with other teams, including development, network, and security teams, to ensure seamless integration and operation of systems.

  • Technical leadership supporting enterprise grade data center infrastructure solutions and leading the deployment at multiple global locations.

  • Consistent track record of high quality, agile focused, team-based solution delivery.

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills, working across global and diverse teams.

  • Basic knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure services.

  • Prior experience following ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management processes using ServiceNow.

  • Experience addressing critical incidents and conducting detailed root cause analysis to prevent repeated occurrences.

  • Ability to coordinate change process, ensuring minimal impact to production environments.

  • Solid ability to maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Shown ability to deliver training to the team as needed.

  • Experience leading operations of a global large-scale Infrastructure service.


Basic requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related technical field.

  • 4 to 7+ years' experience as a hosting or data center operations Engineer


Additional Information:

  • Hybrid role located in Indianapolis, IN (relocation required).

  • Expected US business hour with potential for project needs for evening and weekends.

  • Less than 10% travel.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is

$63,750 - $145,200

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
