Host Home Provider / Adult Foster Care

Host home providers welcome an adult with developmental disabilities into their home to live like part of the family. You may need to assist them with daily living tasks including basic hygiene, food preparation, eating, transportation to and from appointments, dressing, and maintaining a clean living environment. You will be required to provide care and supervision for your client whenever he or she is at home with you. Depending on your client they may be able to be left alone for up to 4 hours at a time. They will also likely participate in a job or day program outside of your home 7-8 hours per day 4-5 days per week. You will be expected to care for the client in your home like a member of your family. Experience working / living with people with developmental disabilities is preferred but not necessary. Wheelchair accessible homes are a huge plus. Background Checks are an annual requirement. A clean background is a requirement for all adults in your home to be eligible for this position.
