Hospitalist Physician

The Outer Banks Health Hospital in Nags Head, NC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Hospitalist Physician to provide locums coverage for their established hospitalist team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a 19-bed critical access hospital while enjoying the scenic Outer Banks region.

• Location: The Outer Banks Health Hospital, North Carolina

• Schedule: 7 AM 7 PM for the following dates:

  • April 25 (7 AM 7 PM)

  • June 9-12 (7 AM 7 PM)

  • June 18-20 (7 AM 7 PM)

  • November 25-28 (7 AM 7 PM)

  • December 24-28 (7 AM 7 PM)

• Patient Load: Average inpatient census of 12-15

• Ages Seen: Adults only

• Admissions: 5-6 per day

• ICU: No ICU coverage required

• EMR System: EPIC

• Responsibilities:

  • Admissions, rounding, inpatient care, and preparing patients for discharge

  • Evaluating patients in the ED for admission

  • Interpreting EKGs and ABGs

  • Responding to codes

• Hospital Medicine experience required (1+ year inpatient experience preferred)

• Must hold a North Carolina DEA

• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association

• Must arrive the day before the first shift for orientation

• Travel Expenses Covered , including:

  • Uber/Lyft/Taxi

  • Mileage reimbursement
