Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manage all aspects of inpatient care for a diverse patient population
- Conduct daily rounds on assigned patients
- Follow up on overnight admissions and coordinate care plans
- Perform patient assessments, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results
- Collaborate with specialists and other healthcare professionals as needed
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Ensure timely and appropriate patient discharges
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records using Epic EMR system
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety protocols
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures
- Provide on-call coverage as required during assigned shifts
Additional Information:
- Virginia medical license required
- Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine preferred
