Job Description: Hospitalist - Medical Director

Position: Full-Time
Compensation: $190 $260/hour (flexible shift lengths to accommodate your schedule)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Hospitalist - Medical Director specializing in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine to join our dynamic team in Fitchburg, WI. This full-time position offers flexibility in scheduling to ensure a work-life balance tailored to your needs. You will provide leadership and expertise in hospitalist care while fostering an environment of excellence in clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.

• Leadership and Administration:

  • Oversee and guide the hospitalist program, including staffing, workflow, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to implement policies and protocols to enhance patient care quality.
  • Participate in performance evaluations, recruitment, and onboarding of hospitalist team members.

• Clinical Duties:

  • Provide inpatient care to a diverse patient population, including admissions, discharges, and consultations.
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
  • Lead daily rounds and address complex cases with a focus on delivering evidence-based treatment.

• Quality Improvement:

  • Drive initiatives aimed at reducing hospital-acquired conditions, readmissions, and length of stay.
  • Monitor and report key performance metrics, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

• Education and Mentorship:

  • Mentor and support the professional development of hospitalist team members.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and educational sessions to promote best practices.

• Education:

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.

• Licensure:

  • Unrestricted Wisconsin medical license (or ability to obtain).
  • Current DEA certification.

• Experience:

  • At least 2 years of clinical experience as a hospitalist (preferred).
  • Previous leadership or administrative experience is a plus.

• Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong clinical acumen and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems.
