Shift: Description: JOB SUMMARY
The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of all Pharmacy Operations related to medication preparation and distribution. Directly responsible for activities of technical personnel assisting in the provision of pharmaceutical care to patients. Responsible for ensuring performance excellence in terms of quality, safety, service, affordability, and technology.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education formal :
Required:
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent of five years of progressively more responsible experience in pharmacy operations.
Preferred:
Completion of Pharmacy Technician training course and/or Certification.
Certification and Registration
Required:
Registration: Registration with the State of Iowa as a pharmacy technician AND Certification: National certification acquired through successful completion of any NCCA-accredited pharmacy technician certification program.
Experience:
Required:
At least 5 years' experience in leadership, preferably in pharmacy operations.
Preferred:
Previous pharmacy experience (retail, LTC, or acute care)
Special Skills and Competencies:
1. Tact, diplomacy, accuracy, dependability, and typing.
2. Knowledge of pharmaceutical names and dosages.
3. Effective communication skills with patients and other healthcare professionals
4. Proficient in use of computers, software for pharmacy and healthcare applications, specific pharmacy practice technology and equipment.
4. Must have acceptable accuracy in performing tasks of verbal and written communication, keyboard operation and computer skills, as well as interpretation and use of numerical and graphical materials.
5. Must follow all laws and regulations related to the practice of pharmacy.
