Under the direction of Manager of Radiology, the Cardiac Sonographer will perform non-invasive cardiac sonography examinations, produces images of the heart and major vessels for use by a physician in the diagnosis of disease and study of malfunction of the heart and major vessels; performs EKG's; and performs related work as required.
The Cardiac Sonographer will select the proper type of image or mode to provide Cardiologist with necessary information through M-mode and two-dimensional images while maintaining the equipment and supplies used in cardiac sonography. The Cardiac Sonographer will maintain procedural competence in cardiac imaging and may participate in quality improvement efforts.
The ideal candidate for the Cardiac Sonographer should have 2 years of experience in the acute care setting with possession and maintenance of a valid certificate as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers; OR a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI); OR a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
