Job Summary:
The Campground Manager is responsible for the management of the day to day operations of Hontoon Island. The position will work to ensure all aspects of Hontoon campgrounds, retail, and recreation duties are met. The manager will provide direction to their the staff in achieving the customer service goals and objectives of the campgrounds and concessions.

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Assist in setting priorities, monitoring progress, and reacting to changing circumstances at the Campground.
  • Scheduling of staff, guest arrivals/departures, and campsite/Eco Tent assignment
  • Builds positive relationships with Staff and Guests.
  • Asist with campground duties as necessary
  • Ensure that standards of service and cleanliness of facilities are being met
  • Ensures an inventory of ice and firewood are on hand for sale to guests
  • Asst Retail & Recreational staff as necessary
SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE
  • Partial High School education; High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to work as a Team Leader and to work independently when required
  • Must be strong in leadership, motivation and desire to exceed beyond expectations.
  • Strong customer service abilities; actively looks for ways to assist customers and coworkers.
  • Ability to recognize when a problem has occurred and communicate it to management.
  • Management and Supervisory experience required. Background in tourism, hospitality or customer service industries is a preferred.
  • Retail & Recreation experience required.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and experience required to work with a wide range of customers.
  • Reading and writing work-related documents in English.
  • Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of customers and co-workers and the ability to speak clearly so that you can be understood by customers and co-workers in English.
  • Constantly communicates and receives verbal communication with other employees in fast-paced environment.
  • Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties.
