Position Description: We are seeking an experienced paralegal to join our Homeless Legal Rights Unit. The paralegal will assist attorneys and take primary responsibility for case files, acting with a substantial degree of independence and responsibility.


Qualifications:

  • Ability to analyze and draft legal documents
  • Proficient with technology
  • Tracking deadlines
  • Overseeing administrative tasks such as filing, scheduling, and answering calls
  • Ability to prepare and maintain comprehensive spreadsheets
  • Ability to perform legal research using online/electronic databases
  • Experience serving low-income communities preferred but not required
  • Demonstrable awareness and sensitivity to the needs of the populations we serve
  • Ability to prioritize work activities
  • Willingness to accept directions from Supervising Attorney and other team members
  • Spirit of teamwork and cooperation
  • Dependable work record, including prompt and regular availability
  • Good written and communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Entry-level, will train
  • Certification in paralegal studies is a plus
  • Ability to speak more than one language is a plus

Salary and Benefits: This exempt, full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $44,000 to $50,000, commensurate with experience. The salary for the successful applicant may be significantly higher based on years of experience.
